Recycling an old field brilliantly: we reinstalled ca. 3-year-old artificial grass to replace a field that had served for 10 years.
Project Description
The renovation of the FC Halikko artificial grass pitch was a comprehensive contract and included several stages requiring precision. The project combined ecology and practicality, as we replaced a worn-out field surface that had served for about 10 years with near-new, only about 3-year-old recycled turf.
Work began with the dismantling of the old artificial grass pitch, after which we performed careful leveling of the base before installing the new surface.
Reinstallation of Used Artificial Grass
A special technique was utilized in the installation of the used, portable artificial grass: infill materials were not removed from the turf during installation; instead, the massive and heavy artificial grass was installed with its infill materials in place.
Once the moved turf was in place, the turf's boundaries were aligned with millimeter precision and the joints were glued to be durable. Finally, separate 8v8 pitch markings were also painted onto the field, which expands the use possibilities to junior matches.
