Koillispuisto Artificial Grass Pitch Renovation,
Joensuu

Recycling of old artificial grass and installation of a new insulating shock pad — 8,000 m² implemented with professional skill.

Project Description

We implemented the removal of the old artificial grass at Joensuu's Koillispuisto field. The old artificial grass was cut into suitable strips and rolled up to be stored for relocation to the next use site.

The contract also included grass removal from the Mehtimäki field in Joensuu. The installation of the used artificial grass at the Koillispuisto field was carried out meticulously. This also included installation of a new insulating shock pad (20mm) under the artificial grass, covering an area of slightly over 8,000 m².

General Questions About Artificial Grass Renovations

In a renovation, the old artificial grass is removed, any base structures are inspected and repaired, and new artificial grass is installed on top. If necessary, new shock pads or other base structures are added to improve the playing experience and durability.
Yes, it can, if it is in sufficiently good condition. Old artificial grass can be cut into strips, rolled up, and transported to another site for use. This is an ecological and economical option.
A shock pad is a base installed under the artificial grass that improves the playing experience by softening the surface and evening out the load. It also protects the base structure and extends the lifespan of the artificial grass.
